Expansion will include six new gigantic slides and the state’s most impressive family wave pool ever built
Victoria’s newest and most exciting theme park, Gumbuya World, will become home to the state’s most impressive wave pool as stage two of Gumbuya World’s major expansion begins.
The expansion will see the theme park’s water world, Oasis Springs almost double in size. Currently, it includes the exciting Typhoon Island, epic water slides, a 300-metre Lazy River, heated rock pools and Surf’s Up. In addition to the new family wave pool, Victorians will enjoy six brand new gigantic waterslides comprising two monster twister slides and thrilling four-lane rally race slides.
“We’ve had our busiest summer thanks to the thousands of Victorians and tourists walking through our doors each day over the last two months,” Gumbuya World Business Director, Ron Weinzierl said.
“We received such strong support from the community and our customers since Gumbuya World re-opened in December 2017, and we want to say thank you to everyone who has visited over the last year. We’re looking forward to introducing an even bigger Oasis Springs in time for the Spring school holidays this year,” Mr Weinzierl said.
The expansion is part of a major redevelopment of Gumbuya World set to continue over the next 3 years. The theme park will offer 50 new attractions as well as a range of onsite accommodation, new cafes, shops, a chocolate factory and a microbrewery. It will also include Indigenous, dinosaur and woolshed precincts for educational programs.
By 2022, it is anticipated that Gumbuya World will attract a million visitors each year from around Australia and the globe – ensuring tourism remains strong in Victoria and the Gippsland region.
Only 50 minutes south east of Melbourne, Gumbuya World offers an epic adventure fit for the whole family with four worlds to explore; Oasis Springs, Oz Adventure, Outback Explorers and Wildlife Trail. An annual pass will ensure access to worlds of fun all year round. Consumers are encouraged to purchase their annual passes ready for the newly upgraded Oasis Springs later this year.
